Q: What is LeafLit?

A: LeafLit is a venture dedicated to the reduction of medical bills for uninsured and underinsured individuals and families. LeafLit is in the business of reducing medical debt by contacting your medical providers and working together with you in order to come to feasible and practical financial solutions in paying your medical debt.

Q: Why use LeafLit?

A: Using our resources and contacts, LeafLit will attempt to reduce your medical debt so that you end up paying a smaller percentage of your total medical debt. We employ attorneys and medical billing professionals who have the experience necessary to effectively serve your needs.

Q: How is LeafLit different from a debt consolidator?

A: Most debt consolidators simply attempt to reorganize your debt into smaller monthly payments, and do not reduce your total amount of outstanding debt. In fact, using a debt consolidator may leave you more in debt. If you decide to use a debt consolidator, it is advisable that you do your research with your local business protection bureaus in order to assure yourself that you do not fall prey to a financial "scam."

Q: Can't I just use my attorney instead of LeafLit?

A: Sure, but LeafLit is risk free and will not require you to tender an expensive upfront non-refundable deposit. More importantly, LeafLit was founded and is staffed by attorneys, all of whom are guided by rules of professional conduct and ethics. In other words, although LeafLit is not a law firm, you get the specific benefit of our attorneys' collective experience and know-how.

Q: Why doesn't LeafLit settle other types of debt like credit card bills?

A: LeafLit does not believe that most credit card debt is readily negotiable. We have chosen our specialty based upon past successes and our established network of industry contacts.

Q: If I decide to use LeafLit, how long will the settlement process take?

A: There is no easy or accurate answer to this question. Times will vary from a few weeks to a few months according to your unique circumstances

Q: Will I still be able to use my doctor if I use LeafLit?

A: Although the answer to this question will depend on your specific circumstances, doctors and other medical providers may be ethically obligated to continue to service your medical needs whether or not you decide to use LeafLit. If you are concerned about your abilities to continue using your medical providers, please be sure to mention that to one of our representatives.
